I’d like to give a special thanks to three women who walked with me.

First Diane, 51, survivor still recovering. You were in my thoughts as I finished, and I wish you a speedy and long-term recovery. Thanks for starting this journey with me.

Then Gayle, 44, who walked for thankfulness, because she could. I wish you a healthy, happy future. Thanks for sharing a part of this journey with me.

Finally Stephanie, 21, who walked because she wants to make a difference and give something back. Your enthusiasm is inspiring. Thanks for finishing this journey with me.

Only 1 casualty

No blisters. No sprains. No major cramps. But my knee is the one small casualty. It’s not too bad. Limped the very last bit but it wasn’t unbearable.

Finished around 1:45. Back home now and took a bath. Going for a well deserved drink later and then we’ll have a romantic dinner at home.

Caught up and I’m about halfway. Passed central park and got a balloon. Met a new walking buddy. Stephanie from brooklyn. It’s not bad today! I feel ok.

Very bad start

So they apparently also put the wrong starting point on my paper!!! I had to cab over with a couple other lost walkers to find the group.

Day 2, bad start

So my papers say it starts at 7:30 today. I’m here and the place is overrun by bikers!! The MS bike ride is today too. It’s pouring too so I am soaked. Apparently we start at 8 am. I didn’t get the memo.

I gave up around mile 25. Didn’t want to get stuck on Randall’s island. So going home for real food and a soak. Tomorrow is another 13.
